Wheesung released Insomnia in 2009 after being requested by the original artist David Craig to record a Korean version which is pretty awesome. The song is about a person falling in love but is also afraid to because they might be rejected and they feel that love is a trap. This is worsened because they became obsessed to the point where they couldn’t fall asleep and becomes an insomniac. Therefore, he or she compares love to a sickness.
The Korean word for Insomnia is “불면증”. 불(不) means “not, nothing, absence of”. 면(眠) means sleeping or resting. We know that 자다 means to sleep but Sino-Korean word for it is 수면. 증(症) means symptoms as in 증세.
